About the
OraQuick
In-Home HIVST

Read the manufacturer's instructions before using the HIVST.

  • A physical copy can be found inside of the test kit packaging.

  • You can also access a digital copy by clicking the Manufacturer's Instructions button at the top of this page.

The HIVST should be stored between 36°F – 80°F or 2°C – 27°C.

It may take up to 3 months (12-weeks) after exposure, for the self-test to detect HIV and show a positive result.

If the HIVST result is negative and your last potential exposure was less than 3 months ago, you should:

  • Take another test at a clinic site. The tests used by clinic sites are usually more sensitive and can detect HIV sooner than the HIVST.

  • Repeat the test when it has been a longer time after exposure.

BE SURE to Check the HIVST Expiration Date Before Using the HIVST!

You can find the test's expiration date on the test kit packaging.
